Brotherhood Across Generations: Shippensburg Lambda Chi Alpha Reunion in Cape May
A Tradition Decades in the Making
What began as a gathering of fraternity brothers from the 1980s has grown into something much bigger. Each year, a group of brothers from the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter at Shippensburg University comes together to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate friendships that have stood the test of time.
Over the years, the annual reunion has evolved from a simple weekend getaway into a family tradition. Wives, children, and grandchildren now join the festivities, creating new memories while honoring old ones. In a true testament to the lasting impact of fraternity brotherhood, some of the sons of the original brothers have followed in their fathers' footsteps and become Lambda Chi Alpha brothers themselves.
Generations of Brotherhood
One of the most meaningful aspects of the reunion is seeing multiple generations connected by the same values of friendship, loyalty, and brotherhood.
Stories from college days are shared around campfires, laughter echoes through the campground, and conversations pick up right where they left off—whether it has been a year or decades since the last gathering. The weekend offers a chance to celebrate life's milestones, support one another through challenges, and strengthen bonds that began at Shippensburg University many years ago.
Cape May 2026: A Weekend to Remember
This year's reunion brought the group to beautiful Cape May, New Jersey, where many attendees stayed at Sun Outdoors Cape May. The campground provided the perfect setting for a weekend filled with fellowship, relaxation, and fun.
As always, campfires became the gathering place for storytelling, laughter, and late-night conversations. Friends caught up on family news, careers, adventures, and memories from their college years while creating new memories together.
A Night of Music at Cape May Brewery
One highlight of the weekend was Friday night's gathering at Cape May Brewery, where fellow Lambda Chi Alpha brother Vince Rollins took the stage with his guitar.
The brewery was filled with energy as brothers, families, and friends enjoyed an evening of live music. Many in the audience sang along to familiar songs, and the atmosphere reflected exactly what the reunion is all about—friendship, fun, and celebrating the connections that have lasted for decades.
As you'll see in the videos below, everyone had a fantastic time enjoying the music, reconnecting with old friends, and making new memories together.
We Met Some New Friends & Supported a Great Cause
Another special aspect of the evening was the opportunity to give back to the local community. During the event at Cape May Brewery, attendees helped support the Exchange Club of Ocean City through a fundraiser that donated $1 for every pint purchased. It was a great reminder that gatherings like these are about more than reconnecting with old friends—they're also an opportunity to make a positive impact. Between the live music, fellowship, and charitable giving, the night truly captured the spirit of brotherhood and community.
Looking Ahead to Next Year
The annual Shippensburg Lambda Chi Alpha reunion continues to grow while staying true to its roots. It's a reminder that brotherhood doesn't end at graduation—it evolves, strengthens, and expands to include new generations.
For those who were unable to attend this year, the group is already looking forward to future gatherings and welcoming more brothers back into the fold.
